This week, the Mayor of Haywards Heath was delighted to welcome a group of German exchange students from our twin town of Traunstein. The visit formed part of the long-standing partnership between Haywards Heath and Traunstein, coordinated by the Haywards Heath Twinning Association in collaboration with Oathall Community College.
During their visit to the Town Hall, the students learned about the structure of local government and the important role of the Mayor within the community. They came prepared with thoughtful and engaging questions, which the Mayor and Deputy Mayor was pleased to answer, sparking lively discussion about life in Haywards Heath and the similarities and differences between our two towns.
The Mayor expressed gratitude to the Twinning Association and Oathall Community College for their efforts in maintaining and strengthening the partnership, which continues to create opportunities for cultural exchange, learning, and friendship.
Looking ahead, the Mayor of Haywards Heath is excited to visit Traunstein for the first time later this year, further building on the special relationship between our towns.
