All of our sites have a number of water tanks connected to the mains supply, for which there is no extra charge. Where the Council is directly responsible for a site this also covers management of hedges, grass verge cutting etc. The site at America Lane has a toilet. There are no toilet facilities at the Oathall Avenue site.

You are expected to maintain your plot in a good condition at all times and there are regular inspections to ensure this is done. The Tenancy Agreement (downloadable example on the allotment homepage) contains a list of things you are expected to do as well as providing some examples of things that are not acceptable.

There is a three month trial period for each new tenancy during which you can decide if you have enough time available to keep the plot to a good standard. If at the end of that time you don’t feel it is working out, then let the Town Council know by contacting them directly. If at any time the regular plot inspections find that your plot is below the expected standard the Town Council will contact you to advise you of this, ask you to put it right and tell you how long you have to do so. If you still find yourself unable to comply at the end of this time then you will be asked to give up the plot.
