Between the 1660s and the French Revolution of 1789, the Court of Versailles was a hub of scientific activity. It was the site of numerous achievements, both large and small, like the spectacular dissection of an elephant in front of Louis XIV and Queen Marie Antoinette's watch (6 cm in diameter with 823 components).
The passion of the three King Louis inspired all sorts of inventions and innovations, greatly advancing physics, botany, mathematics, surgery, and astronomy... It's a fascinating story to discover!
