Mayor and Deputy Mayor Support Haywards Heath Foodbank on National Foodbank Day

The Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Haywards Heath attended a special National Foodbank Day publicity event at Whitemans Green Sports Club on Friday 4 September, highlighting the importance of supporting local families through Haywards Heath Foodbank.

Whitemans Green Sports Club is supporting the Foodbank with a collection of food, helping to provide essential items for local families who are facing difficult circumstances.

As part of the event, the club’s chef was also given one of the Foodbank’s food boxes, containing a selection of the ingredients provided to families. Using these items, the chef is prepared a meal to demonstrate how the contents of a Foodbank box can be used to make a nutritious meal.

The Foodbank, Mayor and Deputy Mayor continued their day by heading to Sainsbury’s to collect further food donations from generous shoppers. The donations will help the Foodbank continue providing essential supplies to local families in need.

The Mayor and Deputy Mayor were pleased to attend and show their support for Haywards Heath Foodbank, Whitemans Green Sports Club and the wider community effort to help those in need.

National Foodbank Day provides an opportunity to recognise the vital work carried out by foodbanks and the generosity of local residents, businesses and organisations who help ensure essential food and support are available to people in our community.
