Haywards Heath Town Council have been liaising with West Sussex County Council and the event organisers regarding the London to Brighton Bike Ride on 21 June and the road closure along Fox Hill/B2112.
The event organisers have confirmed that a full road closure will be in place this year. This is designed to minimise outside, non-residential traffic and keep the area safer for everyone. For residents who can only access and egress their property via the B2112, it has been confirmed that access will be possible during the event, but there are some critical safety guidelines to follow.
Key safety rules from the organisers:
Go with the flow: If you need to drive, please go slowly and travel in the same direction as the cyclists.
No Northbound driving: In previous years, driving northbound against the flow created highly dangerous situations. Drivers are strictly asked not to travel northbound.
Steward assistance: Event stewards will be stationed along the route to help residents safely guide their vehicles in and out of properties when there is a safe gap.
Rider briefing: All participating cyclists have been instructed to keep to the left and treat every road as if it is open to local traffic.
Map & Details: We have uploaded the official Fox Hill access map to our website so you can plan your travel.
