The spirit of community and determination was on full display in the early hours of Friday morning, as the Mayor of Haywards Heath attended the much-anticipated Swimathon hosted by Kangaroos.

Taking place at the Dolphin Leisure Centre, the event began bright and early at 7:30am, with participants of all ages gathering poolside, ready to dive in and make a splash for a great cause. The atmosphere was one of excitement and camaraderie, as swimmers prepared to challenge themselves while supporting their community.
The Mayor officially opened the event with a warm and encouraging welcome speech, praising the dedication of the organisers, volunteers, and swimmers alike. Highlighting the importance of local initiatives such as the Swimathon, the Mayor commended everyone involved for their commitment to both fitness and fundraising.
Following the speech, the Mayor had the honour of blowing the first whistle, signalling the official start of the Swimathon. With that, the pool came to life as swimmers set off on their lengths, cheered on by supporters from the sidelines.
Events like the Haywards Heath Swimathon showcase the very best of the town - bringing people together, promoting wellbeing, and raising vital funds. A huge congratulations goes to the Kangaroos for organising such a successful and inspiring event.
