Mayor Hosts Lunch Reception for Traunstein Students

On Thursday 16th April, Cllr Duncan Pascoe, the Mayor of Haywards Heath, was pleased to host a special lunch reception at the Town Hall for visiting students from our twin town of Traunstein. The event was organised by the Haywards Heath Twinning Association as part of the continuing partnership between the two towns.
The visit began with a presentation delivered by the students, who shared insights into their country, hometown and school life. Their engaging and informative talk offered a wonderful opportunity for attendees to learn more about Traunstein and the perspectives of the visiting group.
Following the presentation, the Town Mayor and Deputy Mayor led a Q&A, during which students asked a range of thoughtful questions about the role of Mayor, local government, and community life in Haywards Heath. The discussion was lively and informative, highlighting both the similarities and differences between the two towns.
The event concluded with a lunch reception, providing a relaxed setting for students, organisers, and local representatives to connect and continue conversations. The Mayor expressed sincere thanks to the Twinning Association for their ongoing commitment to fostering international friendships and to all those involved in making the visit such a success.
