This year’s event was attended by the newly appointed Town Mayor of Haywards Heath, Councillor Duncan Pascoe, who delivered an inspiring speech to the assembled guests. In his remarks, the Mayor spoke warmly about the importance of role models within our community and outlined his priorities for the year ahead in office.

Cllr Pascoe has shared his thoughts on the event: “A thoroughly enjoyable evening at the annual Rotary Charter night and I was pleased to be accompanied by my wife for this event. I am grateful to the Chairman and the members for the warm welcome I received. Rotary are an incredible fundraising machine for all kind of brilliant causes in our community; those who know the Haywards Heath Bike Ride is one of the town’s best events and it simply would not happen without the Rotary Club. They are an inspiring organisation full of inspiring people that I am always pleased to collaborate with for the betterment of our community. They are always on the look out for new members so if you are interested in making a positive impact in your community, Rotary is good place to start.”

The Charter Night is a highlight in the Rotary calendar, offering an opportunity not only to honour the Clubs’ histories but also to celebrate the impact Rotary members have had - and continue to have - through local and international service projects.

The evening featured a celebratory dinner, speeches, and fellowship among members and guests, reaffirming the Clubs’ commitment to “Service Above Self” and looking forward to another successful year ahead.
