Mayor Attends 1st Haywards Heath Scout Group AGM and End of Year BBQ

On Monday 13th July 2026, the Mayor of Haywards Heath attended the 1st Haywards Heath Scout Group's Annual General Meeting and End of Year BBQ at the Vic Forster Scout Centre, Franklands Village.

The evening brought together Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, volunteers, leaders and families to celebrate another successful year of Scouting. Alongside the Annual General Meeting, the event featured presentations, awards and speeches recognising the achievements of the young people and the dedication of the volunteers who make Scouting possible.

Cllr Duncan Pascoe, the Mayor of Haywards Heath, was pleased to attend the awards ceremony and congratulate those receiving recognition for their commitment, personal development and accomplishments throughout the year. He praised the Scout Group for the valuable opportunities it provides, helping young people to develop confidence, teamwork, leadership and practical life skills in a fun and supportive environment.

Following the formal proceedings, members and their families enjoyed a community BBQ, games and a fun-filled water fight, bringing the evening to a memorable close.

The Mayor thanked the leaders, volunteers and parents for their continued dedication to the Scout Group and congratulated all of the young people on another successful year. He wished everyone an enjoyable summer and looked forward to seeing the group continue to thrive in the year ahead.
