Mayor and Deputy Mayor Celebrate 50 Years of Mid Downs Radio
The Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Haywards Heath joined Mid Downs Radio on Saturday 3 October to celebrate the station’s 50th birthday at a special evening of music, memories and community spirit.
Held at Rokschool on Bridge Road, the celebration brought together listeners, supporters and members of the Mid Downs Radio community to mark five decades of broadcasting across Mid Sussex.
The evening was a chance to look back at the station’s history and the important role it has played in connecting local people and sharing news, music and stories from across the community.
Cllr Duncan Pascoe, Town Mayor, and Cllr Abdul Bashar, Deputy Mayor, were delighted to join the celebrations and mark this fantastic milestone with everyone involved with Mid Downs Radio, recognising the dedication of the volunteers and team members who have helped the station reach 50 years on air.
The evening provided a fitting celebration of Mid Downs Radio’s long-standing connection with the local community and its contribution to life across Mid Sussex.
