Mayor Congratulates the Sussex Young Musician of the Year 2025

On the evening of Saturday 5th July, the All Saints Church in Lindfield was filled with extraordinary talent and musical passion as it hosted the Sussex Young Musician of the Year Finals 2025. Organised by Coro Nuovo, this prestigious event brought together some of the most gifted young musicians from across the county for an unforgettable night of performance and celebration.
The evening was attended by the Town Mayor of Haywards Heath, Cllr Duncan Pascoe, who joined an enthusiastic audience in supporting the rising stars of Sussex’s music scene. With the beautiful setting of All Saints Church providing an inspiring backdrop, each finalist delivered performances that were both technically impressive and emotionally moving.
The task of adjudicating fell to Eamonn Dougan, a highly respected conductor and vocal coach, who praised the exceptionally high standard of musicianship displayed throughout the evening.
Constance Starns claimed first place as Sussex Young Musician of 2025. She captivated the judges and audience alike, securing the Coro Nuovo Award and a bursary of £2,500. Her outstanding performance also earned her the Sussex Symphony Orchestra Performance Award, a testament to her artistry and future potential.
Taking second place, Rose Berelowitz impressed with her emotive and polished performance, receiving the Biamp Award along with a bursary of £1,500.
Gigi Casey’s expressive playing secured her third place with the Simply Business Finance Award and a bursary of £750, rounding off a trio of remarkable finalists.

This year’s competition showcased not only exceptional technical skill but also the passion and dedication of a new generation of musicians.
