The Dame Vera Lynn Children’s Charity has reached a significant milestone, celebrating 25 years of supporting children with cerebral palsy and motor learning impairments across the South East.

To commemorate this special anniversary, the charity welcomed local businesses to a 25th Anniversary Corporate Event on Thursday 22 January, held at its centre in North Chailey. The evening brought together supporters, partners and members of the local business community to reflect on the charity’s journey and look ahead to its future.

The Mayor of Haywards Heath, Cllr Duncan Pascoe, attended the event in his capacity as a supporter of the Dame Vera Lynn Children’s Charity, which is his Charity of the Year, showing his ongoing commitment to championing the vital work the charity undertakes.

Guests enjoyed a guided tour of the centre, gaining first-hand insight into the specialist support and therapies provided to children and families. The event also highlighted the charity’s achievements over the past 25 years, sharing stories of impact and the difference early intervention and tailored support can make to young lives.

Looking forward, attendees were introduced to the charity’s vision for 2026 and beyond, including plans for continued growth and new opportunities for businesses to become involved, whether through partnerships, fundraising or volunteering.

This anniversary event was about more than celebrating past success. It offered a chance for businesses to connect with one another, strengthen relationships with the charity, and play a role in shaping a positive future for children across the South East.

As the Dame Vera Lynn Children’s Charity enters its next chapter, the evening served as a powerful reminder of what can be achieved through collaboration, community support and a shared commitment to improving children’s lives.
