On Friday 13th March, the Redwood Centre was filled with laughter, friendly competition, and community spirit as the Town Mayor, Cllr Duncan Pascoe, hosted 'The Big Quiz', organised by one of the local Girlguiding groups.

The event brought together six teams, each made up of up to six participants, all ready to put their knowledge to the test. The quiz proved to be no easy feat, with a wide range of challenging rounds including general knowledge, identifying photos of prime ministers, as well as questions on music, film, sport, and some truly obscure topics that kept everyone on their toes.

Alongside the quiz, attendees also enjoyed a raffle featuring an array of prizes such as bottles, gift cards, wine glasses, chocolates, and more. The raffle added an extra layer of excitement to the evening, with many lucky winners going home with fantastic prizes.

Thanks to the generosity and enthusiasm of everyone involved, the evening was a great success, raising almost £300. The funds will go towards supporting Girlguiding Haywards Heath Town District, as well as the Mayor’s Charity of the Year, the Dame Vera Lynn Children’s Charity.

With the Brownies in attendance, Cllr Duncan Pascoe had the honour of being presented the cheque for his charity later in April:

Events like this highlight the strength of the local community, bringing people together for a fun evening while supporting important causes. A big thank you goes to all who took part, donated prizes, and helped make the night such a success.
