POP UP CINEMA

Find out more about the Haywards Heath Pop Up Cinema here.

Saturday 4th July

Victoria Park
Screenings at 3pm & 7pm

FREE to attend!

New for this year, the Haywards Heath Pop Up Cinema is set to be a fantastic day of free family entertainment. Everyone is welcome to come along, relax, and enjoy the big-screen experience at no cost. While attendance is completely free, there will be an opportunity to make a voluntary donation in support of the Mayor's Charity of the Year, Kangaroos, helping us make a positive difference in the local community.

To complete the cinema experience, a selection of food and drink vendors will be on site throughout the event, offering a range of refreshments and treats. And of course, no trip to the cinema would be complete without popcorn – a classic favourite that will be available alongside other delicious options.

Further details will be announced in due course!

Thank you to everyone who voted on which films to screen!

POP UP CINEMA Q&A

  • Why do I need to apply for a ticket for a free event?

We've decided to ticket this event to give us an idea of how many people are likely to attend. All of our events have a fundraising element to them as we are raising money for the Mayor's Charity, Kangaroos. By using a ticketing platform, it also means we can take donations for the charity.

    Are tickets refundable or transferable?

Tickets and any donations to our chosen charity are not refundable. Tickets can be given to someone else, with no change of name required.

    What time do gates open?

Attendees are welcome to start settling in the park from 2pm for the first movie, and 6pm for the second movie.

    Is there parking available?

Please use the local car parks around town.

Can I leave and re-enter the venue?

Yes, but please note that another attendee may take your spot in the park. We kindly ask that there are no arguments about seating.

Is there a time I must leave after a film? Can I stay for the second or do I have to leave in between?

You are welcome to stay for both films, and do not need to move in between. We kindly ask anyone that is just watching the first film that they leave by 6pm, and for all attendees after the second film to leave by 10pm.

  • Is the venue wheelchair accessible?

The park has step-free access. An accessible toilet will be available.

    Are there toilets on site?

Yes! Toilets, including an accessible toilet, will be on site.

Do I need to bring my own chair or blanket?

Yes! Please bring anything that will make you feel comfortable. If you decide to bring a chair, we would appreciate that these are not too tall so that it does not restrict the view of the screen for attendees behind you.

    Can I bring a gazebo?

No gazebos, other than those used by the Town Council and the food/drink vendors are permitted on site. Anyone using a gazebo will be asked to remove it from site.

    Are babies or toddlers allowed?

Yes, they are welcome. Please be mindful of other attendees, and if your child becomes disruptive, you may be asked to step aside or move so everyone can enjoy the event.

    Are dogs allowed?

Yes, dogs are welcome, but they must be kept on a lead at all times. Please be considerate of others, and you may be asked to move if your pet is causing disruption.

    Is smoking or vaping permitted?

Yes, smoking and vaping are permitted. However, please be respectful of other attendees, and you may be asked to move if it is causing disruption.

  • Can I bring my own food and alcohol?

Yes! We kindly ask that you please tidy up after yourselves. Food and drink vendors will also be on site.

Are there vegetarian, vegan, or gluten-free options?

Yes! Please check with each vendor on site.

Do vendors accept card or cash?

Please bring both with you just in case – while card is accepted, this may be limited due to signal. Thank you for your understanding.

    Are glass bottles allowed?

We kindly ask you to refrain from using glass bottles where possible. If you need to bring them, please keep them on the grass and close to you.

Can I bring candles, heaters, or BBQs?

No, please do not bring any type of fire or heating with you, for safety reasons.

  • Will the screening still go ahead in bad weather?

The screening will continue if it rains lightly. If the weather becomes a risk to the technology or to the attendees, the screening may be cancelled in advance or during the event.

    Can I bring an umbrella?

Yes, but please limit this to umbrellas which are smaller in size, so that it does not restrict the view of the screen for attendees behind you.

What happens if the event is cancelled? Can I get a refund?

If you have booked a ticket in advance, we will let you know via email that the event has been cancelled. We will also post the announcement on our website and social media in hope that all attendees will be aware in advance.
Tickets and any donations to our chosen charity are not refundable.

What happens if there are technical issues?

We will do our best to proceed as necessary if there are any technical issues. Updates will be given during the event if it takes time to fix.

  • Are bags checked on entry and is there security on site?

  • How were the films chosen?

Haywards Heath Town Council ran an online survey and encouraged residents to vote for their preferred film choice. The films being shown are the winners for each category.

    Can we sing along?

Yes! Please join in and enjoy yourselves. We just kindly ask that you respect the other attendees and quieten down if asked.

Can I dress up for themed screenings?

Yes! Please get into the spirit for our chosen movies!
