Growing Together: Haywards Heath Launches 2026 Best Kept Garden Competition

Following another successful year, the Town Council and the Haywards Heath IN BLOOM Committee are pleased to launch the 2026 Best Kept Garden Competition, inviting the whole community to take part.
This year’s competition features four categories:
• Front garden / balcony
• Communal garden
• Business frontage
• Allotment
Whether it’s a vibrant display at your doorstep, a shared green haven, a flourishing vegetable plot, or a business proud of its floral appeal, the competition welcomes entries from all corners of the community. Participants can also nominate a neighbour or local business whose garden they admire.

Closure of Muster Green South for Eastbound Traffic
Gas and Drainage works start on Monday 17th March 2025 and are advertised to run until 25th April 2025.
The following diversion route will be in place along Paddockhall Road, Market Place and Boltro Road. All correspondence, complaints and questions should be direct to West Sussex County Council highways via one of the following means.

Haywards Heath Community Awards Celebrate Local Heroes
The Haywards Heath Community Awards took place on Sunday, March 9th, at the Haywards Heath Town Hall, where the community gathered for a delightful tea party to honour the outstanding contributions of local individuals and organisations. The event, hosted by the Haywards Heath Town Council, recognised the remarkable efforts of volunteers, sportspeople, young achievers, adults, and businesses who have made a significant impact on the community.

Haywards Heath Holocaust Memorial Service
The Haywards Heath community gathered today, Friday 24th January, at the Town Hall to commemorate Holocaust Memorial Day, honouring the memory of those who lost their lives during the Holocaust and other genocides. The event also marked the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz and the 30th anniversary of the end of the Bosnian genocide. The service was organised by Irene Balls, Fr. Martin Morgan and Haywards Heath Town Council. It was attended by members of the local community, as well as Councillors from Haywards Heath Town Council and Mid Sussex District Council.

Haywards Heath Business Improvement District
Mid Susses District Council is looking at the option for a town centre Business Improvement District working with the Town Council and the Haywards Heath Business Association. Heartflood consultants have been asked to carry this work out and are currently engaging with the key town centre stakeholders to see if there is an appetite to take the matter forward.
