Town Day & Music Festival exceeded expectations as crowds flock to Victoria Park for a fantastic community event!

The Haywards Heath Town Day & Music Festival last Saturday proved a tremendous success, and received so much positive feedback from visitors, vendors and businesses from the community day in Victoria Park.

The event included a large variety of attractions including the crowd pulling TITAN the Robot, a show stopping fire show from Poi Passion and the cutest Great British Bark Off dog show. Visitors were able to take part in rides, testing their football skills, learning circus skills, wall climbing and mixing with DJ’s. The Town Mayor had a fantastic time too, presenting the Covid-19 Community Support Awards, visiting the attractions, chatting to the community and meeting TITAN too!

Town Mayor, Cllr Howard Mundin, comments:

“What a simply stunning time I had at this event, meeting so many residents, charities, local businesses and community groups. Everyone I spoke to had something positive to say about the event and appeared to get so much out of it. It was so lovely to see families and friends having such a nice time out together especially after the very difficult times we have all been through recently, and to see the smiles and excitement on the faces of our local children. I was very lucky to stay to the end to watch the crowds jumping, dancing and singing as the music festival wound down the proceedings for the day – a truly lovely Town Day to remember!

My sincere thanks to everyone involved in this event, it simply was the best Town Day event I have experienced: Thanks to Haywards Heath Town Council for putting on such a super community day, to all the entertainers and vendors at the event and all the helpers and volunteers who made the day such a success. I would also like to say a big thank you to our sponsors who helped make this day possible: Barratt Homes, PSP Homes, P & S Gallagher, Brock Taylor, Haywards Heath Football Club, the Orchards Shopping Centre and A Plan Insurance and to Ryan Andrews & Co Business Performance, for kindly sponsoring the Covid-19 Community Support Awards.

Local resident, Caroline Wellan added:

“Thank you SO much to Haywards Heath Town Council for putting on an absolutely amazing town day!! My son and I had the best time, and everywhere I looked people were having such fun. There was so much fab stuff to do and a really lovely atmosphere and an awesome music festival after!”

Jo Bevan, Group Scout Leader, 10th Haywards Heath & Mid Sussex District Scouts said:

It was wonderful to be part of such a successful, large-scale community event after such a long period of enforced absence. Our free toasted marshmallow ’S’more bar’ was a big hit with families and it was lovely to hear of people’s experiences, young and old, of Scouting. It was also useful to make connections with other community groups and have the chance to chat with Councillors.

I’ve heard such good feedback across the board from the day. I’ve lived in Haywards Heath for 15 years or so and can’t remember a better or more organised Town Day. The evening music was a super addition too.”
