Town Mayor humbled by remarkable work of Good Neighbours CARE in Haywards Heath & surrounding villages

The Mayor of Haywards Heath remarked he was truly humbled after attending the AGM of Good Neighbours CARE and hearing about the tremendous work they have been doing for the local community for almost 40 years!

Town Mayor, Cllr Howard Mundin commented:

“This was an eye-opening event for me to attend and I have nothing but the utmost praise for the extraordinary good work going on under the radar in our community. Volunteers from Good Neighbours CARE take residents in their own cars to hospital or doctor’s appointments, on shopping trips or to visit friends and relatives in local care or nursing homes. If they are unable to get out of their home, they are on hand to do their shopping or simply pop by for a friendly chat and a bit of company.

Their work during the Covid-19 pandemic was incredible, offering a brilliant point to point service, all covid secured to help the vulnerable in our community.

I would like to wholeheartedly thank Christina and all of the volunteers who keep this brilliant charity going with their kindness and generosity of spirit.”

Good Neighbours CARE is a voluntary organisation, founded in 1983. They currently have over 150 volunteers but the demand for our services is increasing. They offer practical help to the residents of Ansty, Ardingly, Cuckfield, Haywards Heath, Horsted Keynes, Lindfield, Scaynes Hill and Wivelsfield Green. They are always looking for more volunteers, so if you are able to spare a few hours a week or month, please visit http://www.careinhaywardsheath.co.uk/
