Haywards Heath Town Council celebrates as it wins its 6th Green Flag Award for Muster Green

Haywards Heath’s beautiful Muster Green has been recognized by the Green Flag Award Scheme for the sixth consecutive time as one of the very best in the world.

Today more than 2,000 parks and green spaces across the country will be raising their Green Flag Award with pride in a year when millions of people have seen the value of having great quality green spaces on their doorstep. Haywards Heath Town Council is proud to once again fly the flag over Muster Green for 2020/21.

Cllr Alastair McPherson, Town Mayor and Chairman of Haywards Heath IN BLOOM Committee said:

“This is fantastic news for our Town and a huge credit to the Town Council’s dedicated Grounds Staff who worked tirelessly and social distanced throughout lock down and beyond to keep Haywards Heath green, clean and colourful. Now more than ever, we all recognise the value of our green and open spaces, which many of us use for exercise, relaxation and tranquillity - this Green Flat Award confirms that Muster Green is a true beauty within our Town.”

The Green Flag Award scheme, managed by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy under licence from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, recognises and rewards well-managed parks and green spaces, setting the benchmark standard for their management across the United Kingdom and around the world.
